Session Title: Modern Kids, Modern Toys - How Kids Can Create Their Own Toys

Kids should not only be able to choose the toys they play with, but have the chance to make them completely their own. In this session, attendees can learn how PopUp Play is redefining what play is by combining digital, on-app design and real-life, physical play in a way that is natural and appealing to modern kids. Attendees can hear about the future of play experiences for children and the importance of pairing STEM principles with fun, hands-on activities for modern kids.

Session Title: Peeple: Peeps People Peeping Through Smart Peepholes 

Peeple is a smart camera that attaches to existing peepholes and easily connects to home Wi-Fi to identify, inform, screen, and alert people to any outside presence. We'll share our journey from inventing a hardware gadget in 24 hours that then took 2 years to come to store shelves.

Session Title: The Coming ‘Solid State’ Transformation of Farming

Is the ultimate achievement of solid-state electronics … feeding the planet? Join us to learn how we are applying optoelectronics (LEDs), microelectronics, and machine learning to transform our food system, slash the consumption of water and fertilizer, eliminate toxic pesticides, rid farming of fossil fuels, cut farming’s massive carbon footprint, and feed an increasingly hungry planet.

Session Title: “Hacking Addiction”

Join Nixable’s cofounder, Caleb Smith, as he shares how his father’s struggle to quit smoking, and subsequent diagnosis with throat cancer, spurred Smith to leave a promising career in film to invent a completely new technology based on all-consuming idea: What if nicotine addiction could be hacked? Can quitting smoking be automated?

NewCo attendees will then be invited to join a moderated group discussion:
The FDA recently passed a ruling regulating electronic nicotine delivery systems (specifically, electronic cigarettes) with the intention of safeguarding consumers. However, opponents of the new regulations claim that they may actually harm consumers by creating insurmountable barriers to innovation. How can governments and technology companies best work together to encourage innovation while ensuring the public safety?
